A habit check-in is your own report about one active habit for a local calendar day. It is not proof that you did or did not do something. You can report from an opted-in daily message or use /habit whenever you want.
Record today's report
If an opted-in daily message includes habit buttons, tap ✅ {habit}: done or ↪ {habit}: not today. The buttons are available for active habits in that message. You can instead open /habit to find the habit ID, then send `/habit log <id> done` or `/habit log <id> notyet`. Add an optional short note after the status if you want; avoid sensitive details.
The command records the date in your saved time zone. A paused habit cannot be logged until you resume it. You may have up to five active habits. Turning off daily messages stops those scheduled buttons, but you can still use the /habit log command.
Correct or review a check-in
You can send the same `/habit log` command again for the same habit and local day to replace the status and note. For example, change `/habit log 12 notyet` to `/habit log 12 done` if you reported the wrong status. A daily button from a previous date is stale; open /habit and use the command to record today's report.
Open /habit to see recent records from the last seven days. Each record is labeled as your report. If no entry appears, the companion does not know whether you did the habit. It does not treat missing entries as missed days. Your weekly /week reflection can use recent habit reports and notes as self-reported context; it does not change the habit or verify your activity.
Understand the data and controls
Habit titles and notes are encrypted at rest. They appear in /memory and /export; /forget removes the companion's stored records. Deleting one habit also deletes its own check-in history. An opted-in daily message may use active habit titles and recent status to personalize encouragement, but it does not receive habit notes. Keep both titles and notes brief and non-sensitive.
