How to Buy $ARMORED on Jupiter: Intermediate Guide for Solana Users

Already have a Solana wallet? Buy $ARMORED on jup.ag with Phantom or Solflare. Covers verifying the mint on-chain, Token-2022, slippage on thin liquidity, fees, rent and safe wallet habits.

If you already use a Solana wallet, here's the whole process. Connect to jup.ag, swap SOL or USDC for the mint `Bq4iwaa2hGWweyCeM9ZNyWnZSj6pCMeUDKZgmtb5pump`, and leave slippage on auto. The rest of this guide covers what to verify before you swap, and why new-token trades behave differently. Starting from zero? Read the beginner's guide first.

1. Pick and prepare the wallet

| Wallet | Token-2022 support | Notes | |---|---|---| | Jupiter Mobile | Yes | Built-in USDC purchase (MoonPay) and swaps. Not available in the US or China. | | Phantom | Yes, per Phantom's developer docs | Browser extension and mobile. Connects to jup.ag. | | Solflare | Supports token extensions | Browser extension and mobile. Connects to jup.ag. |

Consider using a separate wallet for new community tokens, apart from where you keep larger savings. If you use a hardware wallet, connect it through Phantom or Solflare and approve on the device.

Fund the wallet with SOL or USDC from an exchange withdrawal (on the Solana network only) or with the on-ramp at jup.ag/deposit. Keep 0.01–0.02 SOL for fees and account rent.

2. Verify the token before you buy

Names, logos and tickers can be copied. A mint address can't. Check three things:

Mint checklist

  1. Exact address.

`Bq4iwaa2hGWweyCeM9ZNyWnZSj6pCMeUDKZgmtb5pump`. Compare the whole string, not just the ending.

  2. Program and authorities.

Look the address up on a block explorer (Solscan or Solana Explorer). It should show the Token-2022 program, mint authority: none and freeze authority: none.

  3. Same token on Jupiter.

Open `jup.ag/tokens/Bq4iwaa2hGWweyCeM9ZNyWnZSj6pCMeUDKZgmtb5pump`. The page should show the same mint. There's no verified badge, because the token is new.

3. Swap on jup.ag

Swap with a browser wallet

  1. Go to jup.ag

and connect Phantom or Solflare. Check the address bar shows `jup.ag` exactly.

  2. Choose what you pay with.

SOL or USDC both work. Jupiter finds the route. $ARMORED trades against ORE, so a route may pass through ORE automatically.

  3. Paste the mint into the token picker

    on the receive side.

  4. Leave Ultra's automatic slippage on.

It estimates slippage in real time. Use manual mode only if you understand the tradeoff: too tight and the swap fails, too loose and you accept a worse fill.

  5. Read the quote:

expected amount, minimum received, price impact and fee (Jupiter's swap fee ranges from 0% to 0.5%).

  6. Approve in the wallet

and read the simulation your wallet shows. You should see USDC or SOL leave and $ARMORED arrive, and nothing else.

Costs you'll actually pay

  • Network fee: 5,000 lamports per signature plus a small priority fee, usually a fraction of a cent.
  • Token account rent: the first time you hold $ARMORED, a Token-2022 account is created. It needs a refundable deposit of about 0.0021 SOL. You get it back if you close the empty account later.
  • Price impact and spread: on a thin market this usually costs more than any fee. A round trip (buy, then sell) can cost several percent, so check the quote both ways before you treat any balance as "worth" its displayed value.
  • Gasless swaps: with less than about 0.01 SOL and a large enough trade, Jupiter can pay the network cost and fold it into the fee.

4. Safe habits after you buy

  • Never sign a transaction you didn't start. "Claim your $ARMORED airdrop" sites are a classic drainer pattern.
  • Review and revoke old token approvals and delegations from your wallet's security settings now and then.
  • Keep a simple record of each buy and sell (date, amounts, transaction ID). Many countries tax crypto disposals.

5. Gifting $ARMORED

Armored Kitten gifts only $ARMORED, so the token on a card is always this exact mint. When gifting is live, you write the greeting, add an amount, approve the transfer in your own wallet and pay the sending costs shown in the fee table. Your recipient gets a private claim link. See is gifting crypto safe? for how to send that link safely.

Armored Kitten is an independent greeting studio and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jupiter. Token gifts are optional, can change in value, and are not investment advice. Check the rules that apply where you live.
