Use story preferences to shape which approved stories can appear in future daily messages. Hiding a story affects the rotation only; it does not delete the story from its source or change your other settings.
Hide one story
When a daily message includes a story, tap Hide this story under that message. The companion confirms that it will leave the story out of future daily messages. This records a story preference for your account; it does not tell the companion why you hid it, and it does not add the story text to memory.
The button is tied to that story and account. If it has expired or belongs to another account, it will not change your preferences. Open the next valid story message or manage your saved preferences in Settings.
Review or restore hidden stories
Open Settings, then Story preferences. The card reports the number hidden from your daily rotation. Choose Show hidden stories and confirm Yes, show all stories to clear the hidden-story list and make those stories eligible again. Restoring them does not guarantee that any one story appears next; the rotation still follows its normal selection rules.
Country preference and hidden-topic choices can also affect which stories are eligible. To review the country setting, open Settings and choose Set my country; the companion asks directly and does not infer it from your location or wallet. Hidden stories are included in your companion data export and are removed when you use `/forget`.
Skip or restore a whole topic
In Settings, choose Story topics. The card shows approved topics with Skip {topic} or Include {topic} controls. Tap a topic to exclude or bring its stories back in future daily messages; the confirmation names the topic you changed. Choose Show all topics again to clear all topic exclusions. Topic exclusions and individual hidden stories are separate preferences, so restoring one does not clear the other.
When story preferences are unavailable
Story controls apply to optional daily messages. If daily messages are paused, you can still review or clear saved preferences from Settings, but you will not receive a new story until messages are enabled again. If the controls do not respond, reopen Settings and use Story preferences to check whether a hide count is shown. A hidden story is a selection preference, not a delivery failure or a request to stop every kind of message.
Daily notes, conversation starters and other reminders have separate controls. Open Settings and pause the specific type you want to stop. The companion overview explains the privacy and settings commands.
