Plan and Respond to a Companion Check-in

Ask for a follow-up at a time you choose, respond with one tap, and cancel or recover a planned check-in.

A check-in is a follow-up you ask the companion to send about a goal or action. It is separate from daily notes, conversation starters and checklist reminders. Use the private chat to tell the companion what to ask and when.

Schedule a follow-up

In the private chat, describe the follow-up and when you want it. You can give a local date and time or a relative time such as “in 45 minutes” or “in two days.” The companion schedules a follow-up only when you agree or it clearly helps the conversation. Review its confirmation so you can catch a mistaken time.

If the time is wrong, tell the companion to cancel or change the follow-up. You can also change the time-zone setting from Settings. The companion uses the saved zone for local times; a fixed UTC offset may not adjust to seasonal clock changes.

Respond when it arrives

The message offers four controls:

  • Done — report that you completed it.
  • Partly — report partial progress.
  • Not yet — say you have not done it yet.
  • Later — snooze this check-in for two hours.

Choose the answer that fits. The companion then uses your response to continue the conversation. These are self-reports, not independent verification. If you do not answer, the companion may stop sending additional check-ins until you return to the chat.

Cancel or recover

To cancel a pending follow-up, ask the companion to cancel it. You can review planned check-ins in /memory. If you do not recognize the prompt or its time, do not tap a stale button; describe the change in chat or ask for the current plan.

Check-ins may be delayed when the bot is unavailable, your access is paused or the shared daily message budget is exhausted. The bot may retry later, so avoid creating a duplicate follow-up until you see whether the original arrives. Daily notes, checklist reminders and feature-discovery tips each have separate controls.
