AI Companion tutorial

Set names for you and the companion

Use /name and /callme or Settings to choose how the companion addresses you, with practical limits for profile names.

Choose a short name for the companion and a name or nickname it can use for you. These are profile settings, separate from your goals, chat history and message controls.

Choose names from chat

In your private chat with @armoredkitten_bot, send /name Luna to rename the companion. Send /callme Sam to tell it what to call you. Replace the examples with the names you want. If you send either command without a value, the bot asks you to enter one. The companion confirms the saved name; renaming it also refreshes its chat input label.

The bot accepts up to 40 characters for either value. If you are entering a name in response to a prompt and change your mind, send /cancel to leave that input without saving.

Change a name in Settings

Send /settings and choose the rename control for the companion or the control for what it should call you. Enter the replacement name when prompted. Settings shows the current values, so you can check which name will be changed. This does not change daily messages, reminders, goals or other preferences.

Keep profile names simple

Use a first name, nickname or short companion name rather than information you would not want used in conversation. A name is a personalization detail, not a password or private contact channel. If you later change it, the new value applies to future personalization; it does not rewrite previous Telegram messages or chat history. For other controls, see settings and privacy and export or forget data.
